Velpeau was invented by Alfred Velpeau (1795-1867), A famous French plastic surgeon in the 19th century, as a kind of fixed bandage for joint restoration. Velpeau has a high reputation in the field of medicine, and he has made many outstanding contributions to the development of human medicine. For example, he was the first person to systematically compile the first textbook of plastic surgery for human beings, with more than 340 volumes of medical books on surgery, embryology, anatomy, obstetrics and other aspects, and he was the first person to accurately describe leukemia. Velpeau's bandage was named after him, and there is still a hospital named after him in Tours, France.
